Meet the newest and smallest member to our rescue! Chelsea is a 3yr old shepherd mix. Well, smallest is relative to height and length, because you see this sweet girl is a full-figured lady. Her owner recently passed on and with no family members, Chelsea had no place to go. She found her way into our rescue through some kind follks and is truly a precious gem waiting to share the rest of her life with a new family. She enjoys her walks several times a day to help slim down her figure (please see her "before" photo with a couple of "after" photos below). Her previous owner suffered from Alzheimer's and didn't remember if he had fed Chelsea so he fed Chelsea a lot. Her foster mom raves about her ability to learn and adapt to everything she experiences. Chelsea is happy to play and be silly at the right time, or simply put her nose on the window sill and smell the fresh air and watch the birds and bees in the garden. Her understanding of basic commands and her eye-contact grows every day... she is eager to learn and please. This great little girl is fine with other dogs/cats and older children.
